Oxford Counselling Centre was established in 2013 in the south east of the city on Cowley Road where it still operates within the footprint of the Old Music Hall.

We offer a confidential service and provide a range of psychotherapeutic interventions which are listed on the individual therapists' profiles.
Many of our ongoing referrals come via recommendations – a reflection of the high quality service we provide - and we view inclusiveness as an essential ethical responsibility.

Our therapists are highly qualified and registered or accredited with highly regarded professional bodies such as BACP, NCPS or UKCP.
'Counselling was exactly what I need through this difficult time, thank you.'- client

Therapy can be a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience, and In order to get the most out of your therapy it is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and that you trust them. Our counsellors, coaches and hypnotherapists are all fully trained and receive ongoing support and supervision.

We are professional, ethical and passionate, and our therapists are dedicated to always providing a high quality service. We recognise that no one person experiences life in the same way, and we each have our own experiences of life, so we are pleased to be able to offer a wide range of therapies and modalities in order to suit your needs, but we also realise that people don't always click with their first therapist, and that this is natural. If you would like to change your therapist you are welcome to do so, just let us know.

If you approach us for support in finding the right therapist, we aim to match them to you according to the information you provide, so that you can work effectively together. You can state a preference based on the therapist’s profile, but If they are not available, we will choose an alternative who we feel will work well with you. The therapist will explain how they work in more detail with you during the first session. You can also discuss any issues or concerns you have about your therapist directly with them and they will be able to work with you to find an answer if they can.

'The counsellor really helped me to work out why I was feeling that way' - client
As well as serving individual clients, we have worked with local secondary schools, charities and housing associations, international language schools, colleges, universities and independent organisations. Whatever the individual or organisational needs we are able to help.
If you are an organisation that would like to offer their employees therapy or supervision we can provide this from our offices. We will invoice you for the services provided and there are no restrictions around the amount of sessions available. You can choose a number of set sessions or open ended therapy.
We are also a Training Centre for CPCAB https://www.cpcab.co.uk/qualifications, and will be offering the full range of qualifications starting in September 2025 with the Level 2 (CPCAB) Certificate in Counselling Skills.
